The Valturio winery was created in 2002 from am ambitious project to bring high quality wine production back to Montefeltro. We carried out a large drainage operation on lands abandoned since the 1960s and restored old terracing. We rediscovered an spring that was needed for the new winery. The winery is energy self-sufficient thanks to roof-mounted solar panels. We decided to plant vines that were suited to the soils and historically present in this area such as Alicante and Sangiovese and integrated these with some non-indigenous varieties such as Rebo and Pinot Nero to bring out the potential of the land.
