AZIENDA AGRICOLA BENIGNI MAURIZIO

The vinery lies among the soft hills of the so-called “Contrada Scappia” which is a small area in the municipality of San Paolo di Jesi . Thanks to its tiny castle (one of the smallest of the area, where lots of castles were built in the Middle Ages), the white wine produced in this part of the region is called “Verdicchio of Jesi’s Castles”. The 30 years old vineyard extends on 4 hectares. It grows up on loamy soils with a north-north.eastern exposure. This position gives the wine its typical fragrance and acidity , a distinctive element of the noblest “Verdicchio wine”. In 1997 the owner started the grapes selection in order to obtain a limited production (about 16,000 bottles) of the highest quality, produced thanks to the most improved vinification processes and bottling methods.
