CANTINE BELISARIO SAC

The Belisario winery was founded in 1971. Today it covers 300 hectares of vineyards and has a cellar with a 30,000hl capacity. Belisario is the largest producer of Verdicchio di Matelica DOC. All the vineyards are within 10 minutes from the winery and are located in the Alta Valle Esina. Belisario tends for the vineyards directly and each wine label is dedicated to a particular vineyard. Production is overseen by an oenologist, a vineyard manager, four viticulture technicians, four cellar experts as well as a sales office in Italy, a foreign sales office, secretarial and administrative functions and 30 more collaborators who work in the vineyards and the cellars. Two brands are produced: BELISARIO, created for restaurants and wine bars, and POGGIO ALLE RONDINI created for supermarkets. In 2002 the company obtained ISO 9001 certification. Belisario is also certified for organic wine production with approx. 24 hectares of biodynamic vineyards.
