CIMARELLI LUCA

The winery of the Cimarelli family, a family of grape growers, is located in the Commune of Staffolo in the province of Ancona in the southern area of the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Classico appellation. The term “Classcio” is reserved only for a limited area in which Verdicchio was traditionally grown. The winery has 10ha of registered vineyards. Some of these are located in the immediate vicinity of the village at an elevation of approx. 380 – 400m. Grapes from this vineyard are used mainly to make the “fra moriale” wine. The remaining vineyard in the area named “Coste” produces grapes for the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi “Classico” as well as Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes that are used for “Grizio”. The winery works attentively to enhance the qualities of the indigenous grapes varieties that they cultivate in this historically important wine producing area.
