CONTI DI BUSCARETO SOCIETA’ AGRICOLA FORESTALE A R.L. A SOCIO UNICO

The ambition of the Conti di Buscareto winery is to rediscover and plant old varieties from the Marche region to then vinify them with a new, modern twist following productive and qualitative processes which are on the cutting edge of wine-making technology. The development focuses mainly on the “Lacrima Nera” variety, a red grape variety which finds its natural environment in the hills which surround the small village of Morro d’Alba and which cover the communes of Belvedere Ostrense, Monte San Vito, Ostra, San Marchello and Senigallia (excluding the valleys which look onto the Adriatic sea). This variety is also called “Lacrima” for the way the grapes lose juice when very ripe (coming from the latin : lacrimosus). The DOC status, awarded in 1985, contributed greatly to saving this ancient grape variety from extinction and gave it a new opportunity to be discovered and appreciated. The winery produces other wines from its Verdicchio, Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes (which are used to make DOC Rosso Piceno wiens). It also grows a small amount of international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
