The Le Senate estate was founded in Altidona – FM in 2003, the fruit of Giulio Visi’s passion and his desire to create an exclusive wine.Its vineyards lie on a plateau, at an altitude of 200 metres, caressed by breezes from the Adriatic Sea. In ancient times this territory was known as the Ager Palmensis, as noted by Pliny the Elder in the first century AD.The unique terroir, with a high content of calcium carbonate concretions locally known as cacinello, offers ideal conditions for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.In conjunction with scrupulous, respectful work in the vineyard and the cellar, it gives rise to full-bodied, elegant and surprisingly smooth wines, destined for spectacular development. The company proposes two wines, Barbula 2012 and Cacinello 2011, which was awarded the Merano Wine and Culinaria 2013 Award.
